The results of national examinations (UN) level of SMP / MTs in East Java showed as many as 35 567 students failed the main examination and follow-up. In general, the passing rate is only 93.34 per cent in East Java.

"This time failure rate rose about 3 percent. Students who do not pass the examination last year or 3.132 percent of the 510 033 15 974 students. This year, students who must repeat rose to 6.66 percent of the 534 011 or 35 567," said Head of Education Department of East Java Suwanto, before submission of list of collection of the National Exam Results (DKHUN) to the ministries of education districts / cities in Surabaya on Thursday (6/5).
