English grammar is less complicated than Italian grammar. Let's take plurals. To form plurals in English you generally just have to add an "s" to the singular form (obviously, there are some exceptions) but in Italian... my God! you have to know if the word is masculine or feminine, singular or plural, sometimes there is no plural at all for a word and there are also so many exceptions! Not to mention verb conjugations and tenses! In English you use "the" for singular, plural, masculine and feminine and don''t have conjugations at all, lucky you! It's a real mess for English/American people and foreign people in general. If you're not Italian, you'll make a lot of mistakes. And sometimes, even Italians themselves, they make mistakes when speaking. Anyway, don't worry, from our point of view, it is not important you speak good Italian as we are patient and helpful with foreign people. For example, if you need directions as a tourist, you'll surely find someone in the street trying all his/her best to help you even communicating by gestures if necessary if he/she doesn't know English (which is fairly probable...!). Hospitality is our strong point, and not only because we know that tourists bring us money! Italians are warm and good-hearted people!
